About ConsequenceWheel

ConsequenceWheel started from a plain problem: the worst time to invent a consequence is the minute you are angry. A short list, written with your child, is kinder and easier to enforce. A wheel is just a fair way to pick among the options already on that list.

The wheel on this site is free. It runs in the browser. You can name a child, match suggestions to an age, edit every slice, and optionally spin for an amount such as days or minutes. Recent results stay on the device. A private discipline log and behavior tracker, visible to the family and an admin, are planned for the app at app.consequencewheel.com. That app is not available yet.

What parents choose

Suggestions include a spanking slice for about ages 2–18. It is parent-chosen, you can turn it off, and it is for a calm moment, never in anger. Some organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, advise against corporal punishment. Views differ. The wheel does not take food away, and it does not humiliate.

Nothing here is medical, mental health, or legal advice. If a child is unsafe, get help from a clinician or emergency services. A spinner is for ordinary, repeating problems after everyone is safe.

The writing cites HealthyChildren and the AAP, the CDC’s parenting pages, Boys Town, Child Mind Institute, and university extension fact sheets. Those links are there so you can read the sources, not so we can borrow their authority for a slogan.

Start with the free wheel, an age guide, or the FAQ.
